"SNOWBOUND TWO"

Tiger does not tell us how the mother and child came to be alone in a snowstorm.
Instead, he utilizes a stark and mysterious pale blue to stimulate the
viewer's imagination. Some viewers feel this painting is sad and are moved
by the plight and defenselessness of the two figures. Others view the woman
and child more philosophically as the helpless casualties of the controlling
forces of nature. Still others view the two as symbolic representations
of the thousands of Indian women and children abandoned and left to die
in the dead of winter by the United States government.
